Next Meeting: February 6

Hi Stort Poetry Group members!

The next meeting will be at 7.30, Wednesday, February 6, at Coffee Corner of course. Let’s bring and share some poems. If everyone could bring two poems, one written before 1950, one written more recently (including by you), that might make a varied session. If you want people to encounter the poems in advance, email or post them to me (or post on the blog or Facebookpage even!), and I’ll do my best to circulate them in advance and have copies available.

On March 6, we have a visiting poet – John Welch, a fine poet who has spent most of his life living and working in East London, but has local connections, as the son of a Vicar of Much Hadham. And on April 3, how about if I run a workshop?

On Monday February 4, there is a performance by Brian Patten as part of the Bishops Stortford College Festival of Literature, “Growing Up before Your Very Eyes: a poetry show for adults and smart kids!”, 6.30-7.30 in the Ferguson Lecture Theatre, £7 adults, £5 11-18s.
